
Besides concert seasons - the XXXII is coming - La Stravaganza deals with research about musical sources and collaborates with projects related to musical subjects.
We believe that the relationship between research and performance is by far the most defining characteristic of early music approach, giving a strong argument to mantain critical awareness especially in present time, often sensitive to "fashion" and economic issues more than to content ones.
Working with cultural institutions (libraries and archives), we reserve a place to XX century repertoire, both in performing and in source description.

In 2008 we started taking music in cultural institutions in Rome, with concerts focused on XX century and contemporary repertoire, achieving in 2010 the third edition.
Online Guide to XX century music sources in Italian Archives
La Stravaganza is now working in partnership with the Direzione generale degli Archivi to achieve a Guide to XX century music sources, an important and quite unknown documentary heritage.
